Upgrading/Downgrading CPU Threads

This article relates to our Pterodactyl Minecraft hosting plans.

Adding CPU threads to your Minecraft server gives it better performance as the number of threads determines how much access your server has to the CPU. Each CPU thread is equivalent to 100% CPU in Pterodactyl.

You can upgrade/downgrade CPU threads on your Minecraft hosting plan by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the clientarea.
  2. Click the Services dropdown and then My Services.
  3. Click on the service you wish to upgrade/downgrade and click Upgrade/Downgrade Options from the Actions menu on the left.
  4. Choose the number of CPU threads you wish to upgrade/downgrade to, and then confirm the order. If you see an 'invoice already generated' error, you must pay that invoice first before you can upgrade/downgrade the CPU threads on your service.
  5. You will be redirected to make payment (if upgrading).

If you wish to upgrade/downgrade the RAM on your plan instead please follow the steps outlined here: Upgrading/Downgrading Products & Services
