Forge and modpacks are fully compatible with our Minecraft hosting plans. We recommend a minimum of 4GB RAM and 2 CPU threads for running Forge servers. Depending on the modpack you're using, the number of mods, and how many players you wish to have you may need more RAM and/or threads. To install Forge on your server you should choose the Forge Server Type option when purchasing your server. If you didn't choose this and wish to change your server type to Forge, or you're unsure what your server type is currently set to, please open a ticket here and we will change your server type for you: https://clovux.net/billing/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=1
Before proceeding you may wish to delete existing files in the web file manager/FileZilla if you want to start a fresh server/world.
Please follow the steps below to install Forge on your server:
1. Go to the Startup tab and set the Minecraft version to your desired version (for example 1.18.2). If you want to install a specific Forge build you can put it in the Forge version box instead like this: 1.18.2-40.2.0
2. Go to the Settings tab and click Reinstall. This will download and install the Forge version you selected. This may overwrite existing server JAR files, however other files such as worlds and mods shouldn't be affected.
3. Once it's installed you can then upload your mods etc using the web file manager or using FileZilla.
4. Modpacks can also be uploaded either before or after installing Forge by extracting the files in the modpack server ZIP and uploading them via the web file manager/FileZilla, however make sure you have installed the correct version of Forge for the modpack (often listed in the modpacks description/download).
